Getting Goods from A to B

Requests for quotes driving you bananas?

Requests for quotes driving you bananas?

Successfully tendering for business in the cold chain has long since relied on two things: Connections and Perseverance. To get my bananas from Rotterdam to Kent I have to find hauliers willing to do the job (and at the right price).

Thus begins the circuitous process of emailing and ringing the hauliers I know who will, after some discussion, quote prices that I have to compare one by one, phone call by phone call. And if I want to reach out to a more diverse customer pool? A quick internet search soons proves relatively fruitless (lack of market transparency means my searches generate distinctly incomplete results) and when I do find a haulier I restart my task of calling up and explaining my needs to them; pick up point, destination, time, amount, temperature... exhausted yet? And I haven’t even got to the point of loading my goods, and any unexpected complications that throws up. But tradition has become our security...

Point and Click

With 44% of logistics and distribution companies investing in digitalisation, it’s no wonder the trend is well on its way to being the number one impactor on our industry. But ease of use is a big factor on how successfully the digital world integrates with the more traditional world of shipping operations. How easy can I make the process of tendering for business - and for both sides of the transaction?

Chill-Chain offers an open and transparent marketplace, one where you can connect to an international database of pre-approved customers at the click of a button.

A shipper enters their parameters; Description of goods, quantity, weight, height of pallets and temperature restrictions; then the pick up and destination locations and sends it out to market. Connected hauliers then receive a notification summary by email, and can log on and quote for the load, opting in or out of visibility during transit.

As soon as a job is accepted both sides are connected via a chat window - no more need for 1001 check calls during loading and transit.

Talk in real time via the chat window and get questions answered quickly so your team can get on with business. The window also provides a log of who said what and when, meaning you no longer have to write down everything communicated over the phone.

It’s high time we saved time.
